P Diddy grounds private jet
P. Diddy has taken to blogging about increasing oil prices, and says that for now he is flying commercial in order to save money on gas. In a Youtube blog, the rap mogul, who earned $35 million last year according to Forbes, says that the next president of the US needs to work to bring gas prices down. “Gas prices are too motherfucking high” Diddy complained “As you know, I do own my own jet and I have been having flying back and forth to LA pursuing my acting career. Now, if I’m flying back and forth, like, twice in a month that’s like $200,000 or $250,000 round trip. FUCK that. I’m back on American Airlines. He then appealed to oil-producing countries to send him some oil so he could fly his plane. “I want to give a shout out to all my Saudi Arabian brothers and sisters and all my brothers and sisters from all the countries that have oil, if you could all please send me some oil for my jet I would truly appreciate it.” He also said that the fact that he, P Diddy, was flying commercial is evidence that the prices have got out of control, reports Dlisted. “Right now, can you believe it, I am actually flying commercial. That’s how high gas prices are ok, so I feel you. Look, I’m at the gate right now. This is proof that gas prices are too high, we need to do something about it, so tell whoever the next president is that we need to bring gas back down.”
GNR blogger faces copyright charges
A blogger suspected of streaming songs from the unreleased Guns N' Roses album Chinese Democracy on his website was arrested and appeared in a Los Angeles court, where his bail was set at 10,000 US dollars. FBI agents arrested 27-year-old Kevin Cogill on suspicion of violating US federal copyright laws. Federal authorities say Cogill posted nine unreleased Guns N' Roses songs on his website in June. The songs were later removed. In later posts, Cogill wrote that the FBI had questioned him and asked his readers if any of them knew a good attorney. He was represented on Wednesday by a federal public defender. According to an arrest affidavit, Cogill admitted to agents that he posted the songs on his website. Prosecutors said theleak could result in a "significant" financial loss for the band. Cogill will not face any special internet restrictions, but was ordered to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on September 17. "Guns N' Roses representatives have been made aware of the arrests and are leaving the matter to the authorities," said Larry Solters, the band's spokesman. Chinese Democracy is a much anticipated - and repeatedly delayed - new album by Guns N' Roses that is more than 10 years in the making.

Ozzy Osbourne's son Jack working on a documentary about his father
Ozzy Osbourne's son Jack is working on a documentary about his father that will include interviews with all the principal members of Black Sabbath, the various incarnations of Ozzy’s solo band, family and friends. He hopes to premiere segments of the film at next year's Ozzfest. "The hard thing is getting people to be honest and not have it be a fluff piece, because that’s not what we’re trying to do," Jack told Rolling Stone. "I’m trying to paint a realistic picture of who my father is. I think [the television show] The Osbournes, to a degree, tarnished the public’s perception of my dad as a bit of a senile, funny, bumbling guy. Yeah, my dad can be that guy, but it’s not him. I think that almost discredited who he is as an artist. My dad’s not an idiot — he’s nothing short of a genius, in my opinion. He does have huge flaws, and we’re trying to really paint an honest picture of that."

Michael and I were originally going to do a musical on his life with Gene Kelly directing and Anthony Perkins as executive producer - but they both died. "So Michael and I put all the poems to contemporary music in his studio in Encino. "We did (Burns poems) Ae Fond Kiss, Tam O'Shanter and all that. We turned his work into show tunes. It is beautiful and I still have the recordings." Gest, Liza Minnelli's ex-husband, adds of the Scottish poet: "Michael and I think of him as one of the most brilliant minds ever... Australia wants 'thorough assessment' of Snoop Dogg
Immigration officials in Australia have said they will conduct further investigation into Snoop Dogg before allowing him back into the country to tour there. A ban was imposed on Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, after he was denied entry to the country in April 2007 after he failed a character test. Snoop had previously pled no contest to drugs and gun charges in the US, and Australia’s Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews told Sydney's Macquarie Radio that the rapper was “not the kind of bloke” they wanted in the country. As a result of the ban, Snoop was then unable host the MTV Australian Video Music Awards. The ban against Snoop was lifted last week, but public complaints prompted the government to reassess the lift to more thoroughly investigate his character, reports Rolling Stone. The rapper will be given strict rules to abide by if he is permitted entry to the country.

"There was just one trailer for my whole band. We had no water, no bathroom, no rider. "The final straw was when they wouldn't give my crew any food or drinks vouchers. "I called the promoter and told him he had two hours to get it sorted or I was out. They did nothing so I visited the promoter's office, took a piss on his couch and left." Download organisers had released a statement claiming Kid Rock was ill and had been rushed to hospital. But the rapper said: "I was wandering the streets in Birmingham, trying to find a good movie to watch." The star said he would like to play Glastonbury next year instead.

The Music's Over For Ex-Doors' Legal Battle
The Doors’ Ray Manzarek and Robby Kreiger will have to pay $5 million to ex-Doors' drummer John Densmore and the parents of Jim Morrison and Pamela Courson, Morrison’s late wife, as the legal battle between the former band members finally reached its conclusion. In 2003, Manzarek and Kreiger toured under the name The Doors of the 21st Century and advertised their shows with images of the late Jim Morrison. According to Densmore, the phrase "of the 21st Century" was often little more than fine print in advertisements and the new band displayed Morrison's image dozens of times during concerts, prompting Densmore and the estates of Morrison and Courson to take legal action. Manzarek and Kreiger now tour under the name Riders On The Storm. In 2005, a judge ordered the new band to stop using the Doors name in any form and ordered Manzarek and Kreiger to pay $5 million in settlement. The California Supreme Court upheld the ruling this week, denying a petition from Manzarek and Kreiger to review the '05 decision. The dispute stems back to an agreement in which the four members of the Doors agreed that all business deals required unanimity in their ranks. Today the votes are controlled by the three surviving members of the band and the estate of Morrison.
